Most translations of this website were made with AI and have not been checked by native speakers yet. If you speak one of
these languages — especially if you teach — you can compare each text with the English original and suggest a better one.
No account and no registration.
Your work is saved only in this browser. Nothing is sent anywhere until you send the file yourself.
Every suggestion is checked by the project team before it is used. A text counts as reviewed only after that.
What to look for
Meaning first. Every “not”, “never”, “only”, “not yet” and every limit must survive: “no account needed”, “not available yet”, “a simulation does not guarantee that a real device is safe”.
Physics and safety. Formulas, numbers and units (V, mA, N, °C) must stay correct. “Turn the switch on” must never read as “switch it off”.
School words. Use the terms children learn at school in your country. Each text lists the engineering terms it contains.
Natural language. Short, clear sentences a 10-year-old understands, in the usual spelling of your language.
Dangerous errors — a text that could mislead a child about safety or about how physics works — get their own mark. They are fixed first.
Start with the filter “Notes from the meaning check”: there an independent AI check has already pointed at possible problems.
Most needed: African languages
These AI translations were made with the least certainty, so a native speaker’s check matters most:
Many African languages have no translation yet, because AI could not translate them reliably. If you speak one, choose it below under “Not translated yet” and start.
1. Choose a language
2. Check the texts
3. Engineering terms
The terms the translation uses for 30 engineering concepts. Suggest a better school term or comment on it.
4. Download and send your corrections
The file contains only your suggestions, marks, comments and the optional details above — nothing about your device.
Click “Download corrections file”. Your browser saves a file named like mekalumi-corrections-sw-2026-10-26.json.
The address for sending the file will be published here and on the Get involved page. Until then, keep the file: it stays valid, and you can continue from it later.
The team checks every suggestion against the English and the engineering terms, applies the good ones and marks the texts as reviewed. Dangerous errors are handled first.
To continue later on another device, use “Continue from a file”.
